Body Found At Whittier Narrows Dam Still a ‘John Doe’

By EGP News Report

Passersby on Monday found the decomposed body of an unidentified male near some trees just off the bike path at the Whittier Narrows Dam in Montebello.

Authorities say the man, discovered at 9:55 am on July 25, had been deceased for “several weeks.”

The bike trail near where the body was found is close to the corner of San Gabriel Blvd and Lincoln Avenue, said Montebello Police Detective Ray Sulcer.

Police are awaiting results of the coroner’s investigation.

According to Coroners Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winters, the body is still a “John Doe.”

They are “trying to get the body identified” and the case is “pending further tests and toxicologies,” he said.

Did they identify the body? I’m told it may have been my neighbor Lloyd Salcedo, he was about 40 yrs old. Do you know how he died?
