Local Author Discusses Bipolar Disorder On ‘Free Your Mind’ Radio Show

Author Maricela Estrada will talk about her experience living with bipolar disorder on the radio show “Free Your Mind” airing this Saturday at 7:30 am on KTLK AM 1150.

Estrada, who grew up in Montebello and now works for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, wrote the book Bipolar Girl: My Psychotic Self. She will talk about her multiple suicide attempts, her sense of humor in the face of embarrassing delusional episodes, and finding a greater purpose in helping others.

The broadcast of the interview with Estrada can also be heard on the radio show website after Saturday’s airing. The “Free Your Mind” radio show centers around mental health issues in the community. More information about Estrada’s book can be found at her website.
