Man to Stand Trial In Monterey Park Double Murder

By EGP News Report

(CNS) – A Corona man was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on charges that he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend at a Monterey Park apartment last year.

Richard Tauch, 47, is charged with two counts of murder in the Jan. 19, 2010, slayings of Jenny Sor and WenWa Chao, along with the special circumstance allegations of lying in wait and multiple murders.

The District Attorney’s Office has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty against him.

Tauch was arrested one day after the shooting in the 200 block of North Chandler Avenue, and has remained jailed without bail since then.

He is due back in Alhambra Superior Court for arraignment Sept. 20.
