Sheriff’s Department Investigating Suspicious Death in Montebello

(CNS) Authorities Tuesday identified a woman who died in Montebello under what the Sheriff’s Department said were suspicious circumstances.

Montebello police were called to the 800 block of Yorktown Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Monday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Cora Sam, 60, died at the hospital, said Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner’s office. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, Winter said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were assisting Montebello police in the investigation.
