MUSD Board Candidates to Vie for Seat at Saturday Meeting

By EGP News Report

(EGPNews) – The Montebello Unified School District Board of Education will interview candidates for an empty board seat at an open session meeting this Saturday, Feb. 25, starting at 9 am.

The board chose not to hold an election, but rather to make an appointment for the seat left empty after Board Member Marcella Calderon passed away at the beginning of the year without having officially served in her new term, which she won in an uncontested election last November.

The candidate chosen after this Saturday’s open session interviews will fill Calderon’s seat until the end of the four-year term in 2015. An agenda for Saturday’s meeting will be posted later this week. The new board member will be announced Feb. 29.
