Latinas interested in learning more about heart disease and how to live heart-healthy are invited to attend a special half-day conference on April 25 being sponsored by the American Heart Association and White Memorial Medical Center.
The half-day program is part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red Por Tu Corazón bilingual language initiative targeted at Latinas. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Latinas.
The event is open to the public and will feature a morning of educational workshops and a health exhibition that will offer health screenings, including information in Spanish, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at the JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. Live: 710 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90015.
A heart-healthy lunch and inspirational program will follow the morning session, from Noon to 2:00 p.m. The luncheon will be in English; translation devises will be made available. Tickets are $250, but the first 100 women to RSVP will get free admission to the luncheon program compliments of White Memorial Medical Center.
