Hundreds of young people from local communities and even as far as Bakersfield, many with their passports in hand, pored over application forms at a Bell Gardens workshop held last Friday to help them apply for work permits and temporary relief from being deported.
The free workshop for undocumented immigrants held at Ross Hall in Bell Gardens offered help on filling out the USCIS forms, one-on-one consultations with lawyers, and a mobile computer lab.
The event was the fourth of its kind hosted by the Southeast Leadership Network. One of the workshops was held last Saturday in Boyle Heights.
Another workshop will be held this Friday at Ross Hall in Bell Gardens (6662 Loveland Street, Bell Gardens, CA 90201) from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The event will also be streamed online at www.ustream.tv/channel/southeastleadership
