By EGP Staff Report

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is warning people not to eat diced, slivered and whole peeled Gills Onions, and diced onion and celery mix because the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. To date, no illnesses have been reported.

Gills Onions LLC, located in Oxnard, California, initiated the voluntary recall of their manufactured products. Each of the recalled products contains a use-by-date on or before August 3, 2012.

Consumers in possession of the recalled products should return them to the place of purchase or discard them. Contact your doctor if feeling ill after consuming the products. Call CDPH’ s toll free complaint line at (800) 495-3232 if you see the items for sale.
