Highland Park Power Outage
By City News Service
About 2,600 Department of Water and Power customers in the Highland Park area lost electricity Tuesday due to downed power lines.
MaryAnne Pierson of the DWP said the outage occurred about 2:15 p.m. in the area of Monte Vista just south of Avenue 59.
“It could have been a car running into a pole or a tree branch,” she said of the outage’s cause. “I just don’t know.”
The outage extended past Avenue 50, with some residents and business getting power back by 6:30 p.m.
