‘Lincoln’ Gets a Record 13 Nominations for Critics’ Choice Awards

The Steven Spielberg biopic “Lincoln” garnered a record 13 nominations Tuesday for the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, which will presented Jan. 10 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
The previous nomination record holder was 2011’s “Black Swan,” which was nominated for 11 awards given by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
“Lincoln” was nominated for best picture, while star Daniel Day-Lewis was nominated for best actor. Tommy Lee Jones was nominated for best supporting actor, and Sally Field received a nod for best supporting actress. Spielberg was nominated for best director.
The film also earned nominations for best adapted screenplay, ensemble cast, cinematography, art direction, editing, score, costume design and makeup.
The upcoming musical film “Les Miserables” received 11 nominations, including best picture and best actor for Hugh Jackman, while “Silver Linings Playbook,” which is also competing for best picture, earned 10 nominations.
The other best picture nominees were Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi,” “Argo,” “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” “Django Unchained,” “The Master” and “Moonrise Kingdom.”
