Times and technology may change but people know how to keep cool in East Los Angeles, and it’s not just about the weather. Under clear skies and chilly temperatures, the driver of a classic car cruises up East Third Street as the Metro Eastside Gold Line train follows close behind.

    I have noticed quite a few businesses have gone under since the Gold Line on 3rd stree opened. And I hear Manny’s El Loco is about to close. Has the gold line prevented customers from crossing the street to support our local businesses?
