Man Fatally Shot at Taco Truck in El Sereno

A 27-year-old man who was shot as he purchased food from a taco truck died in surgery at County USC Medical Center on Jan. 20, authorities said.

The shooting took place at 10:15 p.m. Saturday on Huntington Drive at Van Horn Avenue, according to Sgt. Kevin Moore of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Station.

Investigators said the victim, identified as Angel Serna Mancilla, had an argument with the suspect.

“The suspect pulled out a handgun, shot Mancilla multiple times, got into a white sedan and drove away from the scene,” said Officer Cleon Joseph.

Mancilla was taken to County USC Medical Center, where he died in surgery, Joseph said.

The shooting remained under investigation, and authorities urged anyone with information to contact Hollenbeck homicide detectives at (323) 342-8953 or (323) 342-8969.
