Luis Valdez Classic ‘I Don’t Have To Show You No Stinking Badges’ Is Back

Set in 1985 Monterey Park, a city on the edge of Los Angeles, “I Don’t Have To Show You No Stinking Badges” explores cultural stereotypes and prejudices on the stage of the Casa 0101 Theater in Boyle Heights.

Written by the Luis Valdez, the creator of “Zoot Suit,” “La Bamba” and “Cisco Kid,” “I Don’t Have To Show You No Stinking Badges” is being presented in LA for the first time in 25 years, under the artistic direction of CASA 0101’s Josefina Lopez.

Sonny Villa, a bright teenage Chicano Harvard Pre-Law student, unexpectedly returns home to his showbiz parents in Monterey Park with an older Asian-American woman he met on the road to make an important announcement. Show runs through March 10, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm & and Sundays at 5pm. Tickets are $20 for General Admission; $17 for Seniors; and $15 Students/Boyle Heights residents.
