Police Looking for Housemate of Montebello Fatal Stabbing Victim
By City News Service
A 51-year-old man was being sought today as a “person of interest” in the fatal stabbing of a woman at the home they shared in Montebello, authorities said.
Montebello police were called to the 600 block of North 20th Street shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday to investigate the death, said Deputy Peter Gomez of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. Investigators were seeking Emelio Martinez for questioning, he said.
The body of Carmen King, 63, was found by neighbors who went to the home she shared with Martinez to check on her, according to media reports. The victim’s car, a burgundy four-door 2000 Dodge Stratus with California license plate 4JMC641, was missing from the home, CBS2 reported.
Sheriff’s detectives were working with Montebello police to solve the killing. Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call sheriff’s detectives at (323) 890-5500.
