Police Search for Killers in East LA Shooting Death

By City News Service

Authorities Tuesday asked for the public’s help to find the killers of a man who was gunned down during a robbery in the East Los Angeles area.

The 47-year-old man – whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives – was shot about 4:40 p.m. last Thursday in the 1300 block of Downey Road. He died Saturday morning at a hospital.

The victim had just parked when he was approached by two males who demanded money, sheriff’s Sgt. Harry Drucker said.  “The victim, who did not live at that location, gave the suspects some money, at which time the suspects shot him,” Drucker said.

The suspects fled in a light-colored SUV.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, (323) 890-5500, or Crime Stoppers, (800) 222-TIPS.
