Mega Millions 200K Winning Ticket Sold at Highland Park Store

By City News Service

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery and the estimated jackpot for Friday’s drawing will grow to $83 million.

One ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold at Mario’s Liquor Store, at 5421 York Blvd. in Highland Park and is worth $205,234, a California Lottery official announced.

Five other tickets – two each sold in Ohio and Rhode Island and one in Maryland – also had five numbers, but didn’t have the Mega number and are all worth $250,000, a California Lottery official announced.

California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

The numbers drawn tonight were 2, 5, 15, 18, 39 and the Mega number was 42. The estimated jackpot was $74 million.

The drawing was the 10th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 40.

The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
