Metro Bus, SUV Collide in East L.A.

A sport utility vehicle and a Metro bus collided in East Los Angeles Tuesday morning, sending two people to a hospital.

The collision at the intersection of South Eastern Avenue and West Whittier Boulevard was reported at 1:08 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two people in the SUV, which sustained heavy damage to its front end, causing its air bags to deploy, were taken to a hospital, a news photographer reported from the scene. No one on the bus was taken to a hospital, the photographer reported.
