7:30pm—Final Weekend for “Fuente Ovejuna: The Legend of Lauren Lopez” at Plaza de La Raza Margo Albert Theater. Play is a contemporary adaptation of Lope de Vega’s Golden Age classic “Fuenteovejuna,” featuring Plaza’s CAP theater students bringing their voices and experiences to this 17th century story of a village’s collective action in the face of injustice. Activities: Safe bicycle riding course, basketball free throw contest for youth ages 7-17, kid’s zone for age 6 and under, free helmets sponsored by the Kiwanis Club for graduates of the bike riding course, live music, DJ music and more. 11am-3pm—“Are You My Mother” Pet Adoption Event at the North Central Animal Shelter, presented by The Friends of Hermon Dog Park (FHDP). Adoption fees will be greatly reduced — $83.50 for dogs, $50.50 for cats — includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and for dogs – a license.
