5:30-10pm—2013 Miss Monterey Park Pageant Hosted By the Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce. Young women ages 18-28 will compete for a $1,000 scholarship and the title of Miss Monterey Park. Pageant will be held at Ocean Star Restaurant at 145 N. Atlantic Blvd #201. Price of admission ($25 in advance/$35 at the door) includes eight-course meal with live entertainment. City of Commerce Three-day 4th of July Carnival Celebration at Rosewood Park, July 4-7. Event includes rides, games, food, entertainment and a Fireworks Show on the 4th of July at 9pm. Metro July 4 Art Tour Leads to Fireworks, Great Food, Special Discounts. The first of three free summer artist-led walking tours (first Thursday of the month) will end at Grand Park and The Music Center’s 4th of July Block Party event, which will feature live music, food trucks and, for the first time downtown, fireworks. Tour covers stories from local artists about their artworks. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the entrance to the 7th Street/Metro Center Station, northeast corner of Figueroa and 7th Street.
