Man Facing Felony Vandalism Charges for Breaking Business Windows in Highland Park
By EGP News
Two businesses on Figueroa Street in Highland Park on Monday had their storefront windows broken by a suspect accused of throwing rocks and cinderblocks.
Johnny Canas, who is in his early 30s, was arrested around 7am on Monday on suspicion of felony vandalism, according to Officer Matthew Eddy of the Northeast LAPD Station.
Auto Zone and Reinas Insurance both sustained damages, Eddy said. Police were responding to the scene when one of the businesses’ burglar alarm went off, he said.
Canas faces felony vandalism charges with the damages to the AutoZone window alone estimated at about $1,000, Eddy said. A felony vandalism specifies damages over $400, he explained.
A motive or whether the suspect was under the influence of drugs or alcohol was not mentioned in the police report, Eddy said.Print This Post
