Cedillo Announces ‘Listening Tour’

Los Angeles Councilman Gil Cedillo has announced he will hold several town hall meetings in the district in upcoming months to listen to constituent’s concerns and ideas on how to move the district forward.
The first “2013 Listening Tour” stop will take place July 30 in Mount Washington from 7 to 8 p.m., according to the councilman’s e-Newsletter. The meeting will be held at **Mount Washington Elementary School, 3981 San Rafael Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90065.
Cedillo will participate along with Councilmember José Huizar this Saturday at a “Meet & Greet” being sponsored by the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Glassell Park Community/Senior Center, located at 3750 N. Verdugo Road.
Cedillo has also announced that he has retained the Glassell Park Field Office, which was previously a Council District 13 field office, and plans to open a Highland Park Field Office in the near future; the CD-1 Lincoln Heights Field Office has been closed indefinitely.
According to Cedillo spokesperson Fredy Ceja, the Highland Park office will also serve the Lincoln Heights community, and the councilman hopes to open an additional field office in the Pico Union area in a year or two.
The tentative schedule for the other town hall meetings, according to Ceja, is: Aug. 8 at the Lincoln Heights Senior Center; Aug. 15 for the Pico Union/University Park area; Aug. 29 for Chinatown and Victor Heights; Sept 12 for Montecito Heights; Sept. 26 fro Angelino Heights, Elysian Park and Solano Canyon; Oct. 10 for Highland Park, Oct. 17 for Westlake/Koreatown/Temple Beaudry, and Oct. 24 for Glassell Park/Cypress Park.
