The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) on Monday announced it will implement a full freeway closure for construction related to the $120 million pavement replacement project on the Long Beach Freeway (I-710) from the Los Angeles River Bridge to the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10).
A stretch of the southbound Santa Ana Freeway between Triggs Street and Diman Avenue is being closed nightly from 11 .p.m. to 6 p.m., the closure began on June 14 and will continue until Friday, July 20th. Detours are in place.
The construction is installation of precast concrete panes and concrete slabs in various traffic lanes and locations to upgrade the median barrier and construct maintenance pullouts along the route to enhance safety for maintenance crews, according to a press release. The entire pavement project is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
