Veterans in Montebello have a new and improved dance floor at the American Legion Post 272 Hall. As part of a Home Depot Foundation project, the 80-year old building underwent an $18,000 renovation trading in their original floor for renovated wood floors.

“It brought us back alive again,” said Third Vice Commander John Yanez. “We’re not embarrassed to have people come visit our post.”

The renovations were completed late last week in time for Veterans Day at the post located at 616 W. Cleveland Ave. The grant also funded new lighting, doors, entryways and a renovated stage.

The projects marks the third veteran-related project that was completed through grants by the Home Depot Foundation after being nominated by Councilmember elect Vivian Romero.
