A fire caused about $85,000 in damage to a Boyle Heights home Monday and left a resident and a firefighter injured, authorities said.
The fire in the 2700 block of East Sixth Street was reported at 9:12 a.m., Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The flames were extinguished in 21 minutes, Humphrey said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
A resident suffered a burn to his forehead, and was taken to a hospital in fair condition. A firefighter suffered a foot injury and was taken to a hospital in good condition, Humphrey said.
A “non-breathing” dog pulled from the home was resuscitated and taken to an animal shelter, Humphrey said.
