By City News Service

The coroner’s office said remains thought to have been human that were found in Montebello last week “were not of human origin.”

Pipeline maintenance workers found the items near the Whittier Narrows Dam in the 900 block of North Lincoln Avenue Tuesday afternoon, and police preliminarily reported that they were human remains.

“They were not of human origin,” coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. “There were animal bones, and a plastic skull.”
