Four Arrested in Lincoln Heights Chase

By City News Service

Four people were in custody and one remained at large Wednesday following a short police pursuit sparked by a report of shots fired in the Lincoln Heights area.

Police responded around 3:15 p.m. to Mercury and Mackenzie avenues to investigate a report of shots being fired, according to Los Angeles police Officer Bruce Borihanh.

Details of the initial shooting were not immediately available, but police began pursuing suspects in a vehicle. One suspect got out of the car and was quickly arrested, Borihanh said.

The pursuit ended near Darwin and Eastlake avenues, where police set up a perimeter and took three more suspects into custody. The search was continuing for the suspect who was driving the vehicle pursued by police, Borihanh said.
