Body Found in Los Angeles River in Lincoln Heights Area

By City News Service

The body of a 21-year-old man was found Monday in the Los Angeles River in the Lincoln Heights area, but it was unclear if he was the person who was reported to have fallen into the river near Fletcher Drive during heavy weekend rain.

The body of Pearson Kim Taing, of Los Angeles, was found around 7:30 a.m. near the 1700 block of North Spring Street, according to fire department and coroner’s officials.

More than 50 firefighters on the ground and in the air searched the area from Fletcher Drive to the Main Street bridge in downtown Los Angeles, but the search was called off after about 40 minutes.
