Two Men Shot During Gang Dispute in Boyle Heights

By City News Service

Two men were wounded Monday in an intra-gang dispute in Boyle Heights and one victim drove them both to White Memorial Hospital where police were called and an investigation begun, a sergeant said.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. at Soto and Houston streets, said Sgt. Herb Chang of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Station.

The victim who was driven to the hospital was wounded in the chest and hand, Chang said. He was transferred to County USC Medical Center because he needed more intensive treatment, the sergeant said.

The victim who drove to White Memorial suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, and stayed at that hospital, Chang said. Investigators were waiting to see whether the more seriously wounded man’s condition would stabilize, he said.
