4th of July Celebrations

Saturday, June 28

2pm-7th Annual El Sereno Independence Day Parade, Concert & Fireworks Show. Free musical entertainment, moon bounce, fireworks show, and a variety of community resource booths. Free events starts at 2pm with a parade from the corner of Huntington Drive and Van Horne to the El Sereno Recreation Center. Concert begins at 4pm & Fireworks Show begins at dark. 5pm—8th Annual Boyle Heights Concert & Fireworks Show at Hollenbeck Park: 415 South St. Louis St. Event kicks off with the musical sounds of Chico Band and Bomba Chante, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Bring lawn chairs, blankets to sit on while you enjoy the show. Sponsored by Councilman Jise Huizar & Mothers of East Los Angeles. Sunday, June 29

4-9:30pm—East Los Angeles ArtsFest 2014 Concert and Fireworks Show at the East Los Angeles Civic Center. Kicks off with a free concert at 4pm and fireworks spectacular featuring Grammy Award Winner Evelyn Champagne King after dark. ArtsFest 2014 is hosted by Sup. Gloria Molina & County Parks & Rec & includes local artists, artisans, concerts, movie nights, interactive dance and music sessions. East LA Civic Center is located at 4801 E. Third St, LA 90022. 5pm—Eagle Rock Concerts in the Park, Car Show & Fireworks Extravaganza at the Eagle Rock Recreation Center on the baseball diamond: 1100 Eagle Vista Dr. Enjoy the Sgt. Pepper Beatles Concert tribute at the family-friendly event. For more information, call (323) 225-5466.

 

July 3-July 6

City of Commerce Independence Day Celebration at Rosewood Park. Event includes a community carnival with rides, food booths & live music & the “Commerce’s Got Talent” competition. The Annual 5k Freedom Run is Friday, July 4 at 8am. Reservations are open to secure shelters, picnic tables, BBQ area for July 4th. Rosewood Park is located at 2535 Commerce Way. July 4th Celebrations

3-9pm—Monterey Park’s Independence Day Celebration at Barnes Park. Event will feature food, games, crafts, live entertainment and firework’s show (9pm). New citizens and military families will be recognized. Park is located at 350 S. McPherrin Ave. For info, call (626) 307-1388.

4-9:30pm—Downtown L.A. Grand Park 4th of July Block Part & Rooftop Fireworks Display. Free event covers the entire 12-acre park and adjacent streets & includes two large sound stages and food vendors. Fireworks Displays starts at 9pm. Pets must be on a leash. Guests may bring picnics in totes/baskets, handheld coolers (subject to search), handheld umbrellas, but no lawn chairs, tents, lawn umbrellas, large coolers, alcohol, candles, fireworks or grilling gear.
