July 3-July 6

City of Commerce Independence Day Celebration at Rosewood Park. Event includes a community carnival with rides, food booths & live music & the “Commerce’s Got Talent” competition. The Annual 5k Freedom Run is Friday, July 4 at 8am. Reservations are open to secure shelters, picnic tables, BBQ area for July 4th. Rosewood Park is located at 2535 Commerce Way. July 4

9am—Great American 4th of July Bike Parade in Long Beach. Bikes, wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs are welcome. Kids, parents, and teens are encouraged to ride. Kids are required to wear helmets. Contests for kids 12 and under include: best decorated bicycle, best costume, and best patriotic speech. 9am & 9pm—A 238th Birthday Party & Fireworks Show at Cabrillo Beach and Bathhouse in San Pedro. Festivities get underway at 9am at Angels Gate Park with the ringing of the Korean Friendship Bell. The July 4th Firworks Spectacular begins at 9pm. Alcohol and fireworks are prohibited; vehicles & coolers subject to search. 1-10pm—4th of July Carnival, Concert & Firework Display at Almansor Park in Alhambra. Families can participate in picnic games and 25¢ carnival games hosted by local organizations. Bring a picnic lunch or buy from local food vendors. Free entertainment throughout the afternoon. Live band at 7:30pm; fireworks at 9pm. Almansor Park is located at 800 S. Almansor, Alhambra, 91801. 3-9pm—Monterey Park’s Independence Day Celebration at Barnes Park. Event will feature food, games, crafts, live entertainment and firework’s show (9pm). New citizens and military families will be recognized. Park is located at 350 S. McPherrin Ave. For info, call (626) 307-1388.

 

4-9:30pm—Downtown L.A. Grand Park 4th of July Block Part & Rooftop Fireworks Display. Free event covers the entire 12-acre park and adjacent streets & includes two large sound stages and food vendors. Fireworks Displays starts at 9pm. Pets must be on a leash. Guests may bring picnics in totes/baskets, handheld coolers (subject to search), handheld umbrellas, but no lawn chairs, tents, lawn umbrellas, large coolers, alcohol, candles, fireworks or grilling gear. 6-9pm—4th of July Firework Spectacular In Pico Rivera at El Rancho High School. Free admission. Jumpers for kids. Food for sale. Live entertainment starts at 7pm. Fireworks at 9pm. Bleacher seating available, or bring blankets/chairs if you want to sit on the field. School is located at 6501 S. Passons Blvd., Pico Rivera 90660.
