Gang Member Sentenced In East L.A. Shooting

By City News Service

A reputed Compton gang member was ordered to stand trial Monday for murder for allegedly shooting to death a 43-year-old man whose fence he crashed a car into.

Jonathan Francisco Valle, 23, allegedly crashed in the 900 block of Rowan Avenue in East Los Angeles on the evening of March 10, 2013.

When Marco Blanco walked out to see what had happened, Valle got out of the vehicle and fatally shot Blanco, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Valle, who is facing one count of murder and a gun allegation, surrendered at the sheriff’s East Los Angeles station hours after the shooting. He has been jailed since then on $2 million bail.

Valle is due back in court Aug. 11 for arraignment.
