Man Stabbed During Argument in Boyle Heights

By City News Service

An argument between two men in Boyle Heights prompted one to stab the other in the shoulder, causing a wound that required surgery to close, police said Monday.

The stabbing occurred around 10:20 p.m. Sunday at 3532 East Fourth St., said Eddie Ortiz of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Station.

The victim and suspect argued and the suspect stabbed the victim in the shoulder causing him to “bleed a lot,” said Ortiz.

The victim was transported to a hospital for surgery to close the wound while officers waited to find out if the victim would survive the stabbing, the sergeant said, adding that he came out of surgery with stable vital signs.
