Following a two year absence, the Monterey Hills Jazz Festival made a return last weekend, drawing about 700 jazz enthusiasts to Budd Wiener Oark in Northeast Los Angeles.

The Monterey Hills Federation and Councilman José Huizar worked to bring back the popular day-long music festival, that included easy Jazz, Salsa, Blues and Latin Jazz performances. The festivities also included free salsa lessons, massage therapy and souvenirs.

“Events like this help define and bring pride to our communities… and it was my pleasure to help make it happen,” said Huizar via email. “My family and I had a wonderful time.”
