Fireworks Seized In South Gate

Authorities seized about 200,000 pounds of illegal fireworks worth as much as $4 million and arrested five people in South Gate, it was announced Wednesday.

The seizure made Monday in the 9400 block of Burtis Street was the result of an investigation by the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Arson Task Force, South Gate police and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The suspects were arrested by South Gate police, who said the fireworks were found in a warehouse and adjacent trailers.
