22-Year-old Woman Killed in Solo Crash

EAST LOS ANGELES – A woman killed when her car veered off the Pomona (60) Freeway and down an embankment in East Los Angeles was publicly identified Monday.

She was Heidy Armenta, 22, according to the coroner’s office.

Officers dispatched at 2:44 a.m. July 1 to the scene found a white Infinity Q50 down the embankment of the westbound freeway near Downey Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The woman, a resident of Rosemead, was ejected from the car, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, the CHP said. She was the lone occupant inside the vehicle.
