$250,000-Plus Powerball Lottery Ticket Sold in Glassell Park

A ticket with five numbers in the Aug. 30 drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery but missing the Powerball number was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Glassell Park and is worth $256,383.

There were no tickets with all six numbers sold in the two drawings since Aug. 30, raising the estimated jackpot for the Sept. 6 drawing to $83 million.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to the Powerball website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.

The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
