Accusations Mount Against Hollywood Mogul

By City News Service

Accusations of sexual misconduct continued to mount this week against disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein, with a former actress coming forward in Los Angeles saying the film producer offered to green-light her movie script in 2008, but only if she watched him masturbate.

Louisette Geiss, who appeared in shows including “The Drew Carey Show,” “Two and a Half Men” and “King of Queens,” said she first met Weinstein at the Cannes Film Festival, then ran into him again at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in 2008, when she met with him to pitch a film script.

On Tuesday, Weinstein’s wife announced she is splitting with her husband in the wake of mounting allegations of sexual harassment and abuse against him.

“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgiveable actions,” Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman, said in a statement to People magazine. “I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama added their voices Tuesday to those condemning Weinstein, a high-profile Democratic Party supporter.

“Michelle and I have been disgusted by the recent reports about Harvey Weinstein,” the Obamas said in a joint statement.
