Cypress Park Car Crash Victim Named

The man killed in a Cypress Park crash Saturday that injured an unknown number of people was publicly identified.

He was Jose Lara, 48, of Los Angeles, coroner’s Investigator Kristy McCracken said.

The crash was just after 2 a.m. in the area of West Avenue 44 and North Figueroa Street, according to Officer Drake Madison of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

It was unknown if the victim died at the scene or at an area hospital, Madison said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the location on a report of a person trapped inside a vehicle, and two ambulances rushed an unknown number of people to an area hospital, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
