Girl Eludes Would-Be Kidnapper In Maywood

A man tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl walking to school in Maywood Monday morning, but she ran from him.
The kidnapping attempt occurred as she walked west on East 52nd Street at 6:45 a.m., police said.
The suspect was driving a dark colored or black Ford Expedition or similar sport utility vehicle and followed the girl, then got out and ran after her.
When she eluded him, he then fled in the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a Latino in his mid-30s, 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 170 pounds. He had dark curly hair, brown eyes and acne scars. He has a mole on his right cheek.
