About 40 pets from the North Central Animal Shelter on Lacy Street were matched up with Northeast L.A. residents at the “Adopt a Valentine” event on Feb. 13. The family friendly festival included live music, face painting, games, an information fair and a giant shark air-inflated slide. The adoption event with discounted fees was presented by Friends of Hermon Dog Park, and was sponsored by the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council, Atwater Village Neighborhood Council, Greater Cypress Park Neighborhood Council, Council President Eric Garcetti, and LA Animal Services.
