Winds Topple Towering Tree in Highland Park
By Deana Hagan (EGP Photo)
Mondays Santa Ana Winds toppled this huge almond tree on Hub St. in Highland Park, destroying two cars parked on the street. The same family owned both cars, according to neighbors. One half-hour later and the area would have been full of cars and students who attend Franklin High School, say residents, adding that this is the second tree to fall and cause damage. They fear the two trees still standing will also topple over, and worry that the next time around someone will be hurt, and even more property damage will occur.
